Chinese New Year 2023 is coming soon! It’s that time of year when some countries in Asia enter their holiday season. As shipping companies close for celebrations it is vital that your supply chain is prepared for the shutdown. Please see the following public holidays for China Global Freight Team.
When is Chinese New Year 2023?
The dates of Chinese New Year vary according to the lunar calendar but generally fall on a day between 21st January and 20th February. So mark your calendars and get ready to prepare for your supply chain!
We would like to take this opportunity to remind our customers that our service will be unavailable during Chinese New Year. During this time, we will be celebrating the holidays and welcoming the Year of the Rabbit. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and we thank you for your understanding.
How long is the Chinese New Year holiday 2023?
In 2023, the Lunar New Year will be celebrated from the Lunar New Year’s Eve, otherwise known as Spring Festival Eve, to the 6th day of the first lunar month. That’s right—it’s a week-long holiday! So make sure to mark your calendars and plan accordingly.
What Countries Celebrate the Lunar New Year?
The Lunar New Year is celebrated all over the world by various cultures, but there are a few countries that take the lead in terms of festivities. China, of course, has the biggest celebration, with millions of people traveling home to be with their families. Other countries that celebrate the Lunar New Year include Vietnam, Taiwan, Korea, Singapore and Malaysia.
How will Logistics Services be impacted by Chinese New Year holiday?
Chinese New Year is a time of celebration and tradition, and transportation and logistics services will be impacted accordingly. For example, international shipping will be affected as offices close for the holiday. It’s important to get ready for this increased demand—consider pre-booking services and make sure you have enough resources to cover the extra requests. Make sure that your team has enough supplies, such as fuel and spare parts, so that you can avoid any potential delays or disruption.
Also factor in extra time for your manufacturing – many Chinese shipping companies and manufacturers will be closed for up to two weeks during this time, so it might be worth offering additional support from other departments to ensure that you deliver your services on time.
How will Your Sea Freight be impacted by the Lunar New Year 2023?
Lunar New Year is just around the corner and with it come a slew of changes for the maritime sector.
For one, Lunar New Year always sees a slowdown in maritime activity as factories close for up to two weeks and workers return home to celebrate with their families. This year, that slowdown is likely to be even more pronounced as many businesses take a cautious approach in light of the current trade tensions.
To make matters worse, there is also expected to be a surge in demand for ocean freight during the early weeks of the new year as companies rush to get their sea shipment delivered before things shut down again. This could lead to backlogs and delays, so it’s important to plan well in advance and factor in extra time for your ocean shipments.
How will Your Air Freight be impacted by Lunar New Year 2023?
As you prepare for the upcoming Lunar New Year, it’s worth considering how the air freight sector will be affected. Air freight is an important part of the Chinese economy, and it’s likely to experience increased demand from companies and individuals looking to ship goods during the holiday season.
With all this extra demand, it’s important to plan ahead when shipping goods during this time. If possible, try to book air freight in advance to ensure that your air cargo arrive on time, as many flights will book up quickly due to the large number of people traveling for Chinese New Year. Additionally, make sure you are aware of any restrictions or delays that could affect your air shipments due to increased security measures in some airports.
By understanding how these changes could affect your international shipments from China, you can make sure your goods get where they need to go on time and without issue.
